Among his accomplishments are surpassing the University’s first-ever capital campaign goal of $16.25 million by raising $27.3 million; increasing overall giving by 270% during the campaign; increasing alumni giving from 1% to 11.6%; securing the University’s largest capital improvement state-appropriated award in the last 20 years; reducing the print and mail cost operations by $1 million or 50% over 8 years; bringing a UPS Store to campus; and, incorporating marketing strategies that helped boost enrollment by 26% since 2012.
一道本不卡免费高清Prior to joining Alabama A&M, Tucker served as Interim Executive Director of University Advancement at Mississippi Valley State University, where he, as a member of the President’s Cabinet, led the division’s fundraising efforts. During his leadership, the University received its largest one-time donation and recorded the second highest annual fund raising totals in the institution’s history. Before joining the President’s Cabinet, Tucker served as annual fund officer at MVSU. In addition, he taught as an adjunct instructor and served as workforce investment area coordinator at Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Other posts include assistant director of career services & placement and admissions recruiter at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Tucker received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He obtained the Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in management from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. The Doctorate of Higher Education Degree was earned from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.
Tucker is affiliated and has held leadership positions with various civic organizations from local to international, including but not limited to the following: Huntsville Madison County Leadership Focus Class 25 and Connect Class 15; Council for the Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) Historically Black Colleges & Universities Taskforce Chair; CASE District III Board of Directors and Conference Planning Committee; Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Board of Directors and Treasurer, North Alabama Chapter; AFP International Chapter Support Sub-committee; National Children’s Advocacy Center Board of Directors; Urban League of Alabama Board of Directors; and, Board of Directors for the Huntsville Museum of Art. In 2008, Tucker completed CASE’s Summer Institute at Dartmouth University, and in 2012, he received the Certificate in Fund Raising Management from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. In 2018, he completed Harvard’s Graduate School of Education’s Institute for Educational Management and Hampton University’s Executive Leadership Summit. He was also a Higher Education Leadership Foundation 2018 Fellow.
